It’s easy to get carried away when shopping
for baby boy clothes online
because there are just so many cute and trendy options available. But when
buying baby clothes, it’s important to look beyond the style. Be sure to
consider factors like comfort, safety, and practicality, too. Here are some
things to think about when shopping for a boy
baby dress online or any other type of garment for infants and toddlers.
1. Safety
first!
Stay away from buttons, ties, and bows. Small
buttons and decorative things (like rhinestones) are particularly dangerous
because they are choking hazards. Don’t buy clothes that have long ties or
those that pull tightly around your baby boy’s neck, arms, or legs. If there
are any decorations, make sure they’re sewed on tightly.
2. Is
it easy to put on and take off?
It’s hard enough trying to dressing a wiggling baby—and the struggle will be even bigger if you choose ill-designed clothes. Certain cuts and features can certainly make dressing easier. Choose wide necks or clothes with snaps at the neck. This makes it easier to pull the garment over the baby’s head, before he panics. Baby clothes with zippers and snaps in the front are also easier to manage. Go for loose sleeves that quickly pull on and off and stay away from tight ones. Finally, look for crotch snaps—they make diaper changing less of a mess.
3. Make
sure it’s washable.
The label or the product description should say "machine washable" so that you don’t have to hand-wash or iron the garment. You generally can’t go wrong with 100% cotton because it washes well, aside from being super comfortable.
4. Think
ahead.
It’s no secret that babies grow up fast. If you have a newborn, it certainly makes sense to stock up on 6-month and 1-year sizes as early as now so that you’re ready. Take advantage of sales and seasonal discounts.
